Abigail Verbeke
Diverse Learner Teacher
My name is Ms. Verbeke (Ms. V)! I grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Detroit and moved to Chicago in 2017 to attend DePaul University. I was drawn to the diversity and experiences I would gain in a big city and quickly fell in love with Chicago. DePaul's slogan is "What must be done?" and I was excited to be a part of a school dedicated to improving communities on a larger scale. I decided to follow my passion of working with children and individuals with disabilities and major in Special Education. I graduated from DePaul in 2022 with a B.S in Special Education and I am working on my M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. I currently live in Edgewater with my two black cats, Sgt. Pepper and Popcorn. This is my second year at McCutcheon and my third year working for CPS. This year I will be pushing-in for second grade math, third grade Social Studies/ Science and ELA, and part of fourth grade math. I will also be pulling out for third and fourth grade math resource. I strive to create an environment that supports and celebrates all students’ academic achievement, social and emotional well-being, and individuality. I'm so excited to be working with all of you this year! Please feel free to reach out if you need anything :)
